Glowing reviews for The Dmitri Ensemble's PASSIONTIDE 2008 project have been released.  Primi Divi talked of 'something that was awe-inspiring and reverential, ... the Ensemble played and sang with strength and conviction throughout. ... They must be the most beautiful bass section I’ve ever heard'.  Classical Source commented on 'a well-blended sound and tight togetherness' and that 'the star of the evening was The Dmitri Ensemble itself'.

The Dmitri Ensemble announces today a major new project for next Easter, PASSIONTIDE 2008; a four-concert tour and commercial recording for the Naxos label, to be released in 2009.  The disc of works by James MacMillan, to include two première recordings, will be the Ensemble's first commercial disc, and is the culmination of a UK tour of Passiontide music by MacMillan and Giles Swayne.  The Dmitri Ensemble has worked closely with both composers in the past, and looks forwards to renewing these collaborations in this challenging and eagerly-anticipated project.  See Performances and PASSIONTIDE 2008 for more details.
